The Chess and Strategy Games in the Classroom educational programme is a classroom-tested approach, developed by John Foley and Brigitta Peszleg from ChessPlus (UK) in collaboration with the ECU Education Commission and LogiqBoard.
UNLOCKING THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THE CHESSBOARD FOR EDUCATION
The two-day training course shows how different strategy games can be used in conjunction with teaching chess to keep children motivated by providing a wider variety of games. It provides an overview of the use of chess and strategy games in schools, their educational benefits for children and the didactical methods used in the classroom. The course introduces several games playable on a chessboard, comprising a variety of chess mini-games, chess variants, chessy math & logic puzzles, and other strategy games.
Who is the course for?
The course is designed for teachers, school staff, chess tutors and educators of all kinds who value playful approaches to learning and want to use engaging game-based activities to motivate children in the classroom.
No prior chess experience is needed. If you want to introduce more variety into the classroom and you love to teach through play, this course is for you.
