After the the ECU Education Commission was set up in 2014 the first thing that became clear was that there was no data. We commissioned an overview of how many children play chess in schools in Europe, which different methods were used if it was regular teachers or instructors from outside that gave the lessons, and where the finance came from. This was the first try-out to gather information.
