LET’S PLAY TOGETHER (Låt oss spela ihop!) – Sweden (2022 – 2023)
Chess players introducing schools to chess with a festival of inclusion. In Sweden, Norway and other countries there are several funds that you can apply for. Each fund has got their special status for what projects they give money to, like research, charity, youths in general, education, sports etc. Jesper Hall (project manager) and Martin Göransson (fund manager) have worked together for a long-time making applications and running projects.

CHESS AND SOCIETY (Sjakk og Samfunn) – Norway (2019 – 2022)
The over-arching belief behind the Chess and Society project launch was that chess has a lot to offer to everyone in society. To facilitate that this could really become reality. A project was needed to take the leadership in introducing chess to various parts of society as therapeutic chess. From libraries, prisons, elderly care homes to mental health patience and asylum seekers etc… The project identified a long-list of some 30 areas of society where the belief was that establishing chess activity would have a significant impact.

ACADEMY FOR YOUNG CHESS LEADERS (USF-akademiet) – Norway (2017 – 2022)
An Academy Class consisting of some 12 students is the basic unit. These 12 candidates are trained over a period of 2 years, meeting every 3 months in a total of 8 sessions, typically taking place from late Friday afternoons to mid-Sundays, allowing candidates to fly in from all over Norway to where the session is situated (varies from session to session) after ordinary weeks as students or other.

8×8 – Portugal, Austria, UK, (2019 – 2021)
8×8 (eight by eight) brings together educators, mathematicians, and game experts. Jointly, we are exploring the pedagogical possibilities of simple strategy games for primary school education. We want to promote mathematical, logical, and meta-cognitive skills of children through the use of games.

TRAIN YOUR MIND (Allena la tua mente) – Italy (2019)
A small but successful project to bring chess to families through a private company. Chess can be used to increase the communication possibilities in the family, a need in this historical period, and at the same time finalizing the project activities to increase the possible customers of the Generali Italia insurance company (the largest in Italy, with 1,500 agencies).

CASTLE – Italy, Spain, Germany (2014 – 2017)
A Chess curriculum to Advance Students ́ Thinking and Learning skills in Primary Education – 2014/2017. Erasmus + program granted the project with € 240.000, with a co-financing of about 10,000 from the partners, and as many from FIDE (for the production of the videos). Alfiere Bianco, as administrative leader, provided the financing tranches to the partners through a budget check carried out every year. Erasmus + requested a bank guarantee of € 197,000, sent three annual installments during 2014/2017 and paid the final bill (20 percent final) in February 2018.

Schools Chess United (Schack4an) – Sweden (2007- )
In 2004 the board of the Swedish Chess Federation declared that the goal for the federation was to increase its memberships by 50%. Every section of the federation had to come up with ideas on how to achieve it which resulted with a National chess competition for Year 4 children with an emphasis on maximising participation.
