🌟 Maria Vasilescu (Romania)
I didn’t expect to get so much practical information that I could apply immediately, but I am very glad I did. I recommend it for the following reasons: 1. The facilitators are well-experienced and very eager to share their experiences. 2. Both John and Jesper are proficient in English and very good storytellers which makes the experience enjoyable. 3. Lots of mini-games. 4. It teaches you how to properly think like an educational chess tutor.

It is an absolutely great course! It gave me even more than I expected! My issue now is to start implementing new knowledge into my classes. And it will be a challenging issue as I see how many great improvements I can add. It is an absolutely great and very rich course! It is a scientifically and pedagogically based course which makes it a serious matter! I am a teacher myself so I see the structure, methods, tools and techniques that I can implement in my classes. I cannot recommend it more!!!!

I am glad that I attended the course. The lecturers were excellent. The course helped me to change my focus from competitive chess to educational chess and showed me what advantages it brings to the development of children.

I wanted to learn new ideas about how to start and effectively manage a chess class and this course has provided me with more information that feels practical and applicable to me. The timezone difference (Philippines) was a bit difficult to manage (though it is understandable that this is intended primarily for those residing in the EU) but other than that, this is an excellent course that I would recommend to anyone.

From the course, not only I received a great didactic methodology to follow in my classes, but during the discussions with the other participants, I received interesting suggestions and new ideas. I really enjoyed the course and hope to attend another one in the future, maybe one day in person (who knows) to have the chance to know personally the people involved. Even if my teaching experiences were limited, and maybe my contribution was poor, I really liked the possibility given to all the participants to share new ideas with the others.
We want to thank the latest SMART graduates for their feedback and contribution, sharing their knowledge and ideas at the latest ECU101 – The SMART Method to Teach Chess training course. It was a great pleasure working with you and getting to know you better. Besides learning about new teaching techniques and classroom strategies, we always see great value in providing a platform where fellow educators can meet like-minded individuals from different countries with their unique perspectives. This is the additional benefit of these training courses; the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of teachers and learn from one another.
